Honeymoon Options

Honeymoons are essential. One needs to restore one’s energy after the big day and to spend quality time with your loved one. If you have flown to Africa from far, it is even more important to give yourselves time for rest, rejuvenation and recreation in your country of choice.  What better place to do this than the wide- open and unspoiled spaces of Africa. Here follows just a  few ideas of wonderful honeymoon option.

Cape Town – They say that couples that play together, stay together. Cape Town is a playground of note. With so much to see and do in this vibrant and colorful city, one can keep busy for days. Cape Town is all about beautiful sunsets, superb restaurants, intimate coffee shops, hiking, boating, helicopter flips, wines, cocktails, and great views. You will need more than a few days to truly get to see and do all that this magnificent city has to offer.

Wilderness Lodges – Three hours drive north of Cape Town is an area called the Cederberg which is a pristine wilderness area. The Cederberg Mountains, burnt orange by iron oxide, dominate the landscape. Jagged sandstone rock formations and ancient San and Khoi rock art, make this a truly spectacular area. Here you will find beautiful lodges that are perfect for restoring your soul.

Coastal Lodges –  South Africa has many miles of pristine coastline where you will find upmarket hotels, unique eco-lodges, beach houses, and beautiful guesthouses. Whether it be a quaint fishing village on the Atlantic coast, a whale watching town on the Indian Ocean coast, or the wild unspoiled coastline of the Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal, we will find the spot that is perfect for your vacation.

The Garden Route –  This east coast route extends from Mossel Bay to Storms River in the Cape. With miles of white beaches, lagoons, forests, valleys, and mountains, it is an area of incredible natural beauty. To best experience the area we recommend a drive trip however if you prefer to stay in one spot we can fly you in and out and arrange transfers for the duration of your stay.

Game Lodges and Wildlife areas – There is something romantic about a safari. Sitting at an open boma fire under the big African sky listening to the sounds of the wilds is a unique and hugely memorable experience. From the stunning lodges of Southern Africa’s Big Five Reserves to the pristine waterways and lagoons of the Okavango Swamps. From the vast plains of Tanzania and Kenya with their massive herds to the dunes and desert-adapted animals of Namibia and the Kalahari. The choice is huge. This is where Cape Classics Africa can guide you.

Mozambique –  The coastline of Mozambique is 2300 km (1,430 miles) of sandy beaches backed by coastal dunes. Off the coast of Mozambique are many islands each with their individual character.  If turquoise waters, swimming, diving, snorkeling, fishing and sailing combined with beautiful accommodation and wonderful food is what you are looking for, this is the spot for your honeymoon.

The Indian Ocean Islands –  Mauritius, Zanzibar and Seychelles – these beautiful tropical islands with their turquoise waters and white sandy palm-lined beaches are all wonderful wedding venues. The resort hotels go out of their way to arrange beautiful beach ceremonies followed by elegant dinners. The joy of getting married at a resort hotel is that you get to spend more time with your guests. It is ideal for extended families and groups of friends from all the world to gather and celebrate for longer than just a day.
