Cape Classics Africa is affiliated to Cape Classics Inc. a wine import company based in New York with an office on Lourensford Wine Estate. Cape Classics represents some of the finest wine estates in the Cape and has distribution in 50 states in America. Cape Classics Africa began with the idea of showcasing and arrange tours of our beautiful winelands for wine industry clients but has subsequently developed into a full service service travel planning company for Southern and East africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
With Shirley having 37 years experience in the travel industry and having visited extensively in Africa, it was easy to diversify to include safaris, beach and desert escapes.
We are fortunate to have our office in Somerset West close to Cape Town and Lourensford Estate in the winelands. We take great pride in arranging wonderful experiences and itineraries and maintain a consistantly high standard of excellence. We deeply value the personal relationships we’ve established over the years, and we treat our clients, suppliers and colleagues with the utmost courtesy and respect.
At the Helm
Cape Classics Inc.
Born in Johannesburg in South Africa, Andre went to King Edward VII School. An avid oarsman, he rowed for a Junior South African squad in the British Championships in 1979. After attending Medical School at the University of the Witwatersrand for four years, Andre spent seven years working in Europe. In 1991, he arranged the first tasting of South African wines in New York. This led to Cape Classics Inc. being founded which is now the largest importer of fine South African wines into the United States. Andre also takes a great personal interest in social responsibility by supporting early childhood development to those in need in the Stellenbosch winelands area in the form of the Indaba Montessori Institute. Andre lives between South Africa and the USA and is the proud father of three sons.
